A few photos from a gallery show

Was in a gallery show in downtown Monroe several weeks ago and the location was an old upstairs abandoned building.
The textures and colors were exceptional.
And one Block away the outside of a building was clad in various types of stone....textures too.

Photography activity last several weeks

The last several weeks have been slow on the clay/ceramics but have been active in the photo front in several different areas.

More seed pod photos in macro.  The colors and textures, I just can not stop taking photos...

Atalaya Festival in coastal SC took some ceiling shots of the old structure, liked the color /textures

And a walk in early morning (6-7am) on park trail.

New photo this morning of seed pods

Was at my morning walk at the local park and noticed in mostly dark (6AM) conditions some "flowers" on a nearby tree. I grabbed a few and got to office to study and photo them. Very interesting color and textures.  They will eventually turn parchment color and be mostly translucent when dry.

Kiln opening 9.10

Got some new ceramics out this weekend and was pleased with some not others...par for the course.

First is my little cup with riverside grit clay and a brush of porcelain slurry, glazed black and wiped mostly off.

Some home clay with wiped black glaze outside.

Home clay with matt burnished and oxide rubbed interior and a copperish matt glaze over tabs of clay over the vessel outside

and last, a favorite little tray server with a thick body, layers of alternatinglight and dark home clay and a small area burnished center top with clear glaze over the burnished area, notice the sheep head appeared.

Last kiln opening

My last firing of random things brought out a little different look. Commercial clay this time. Riverside grit.  Works well with my hand built items. Nice brown color lots of texture.
